“Casa Viata Noua was a totally new normal. The staff and the kids were being de-institutionalized, untrained, hopefully to learn their value as individuals in God’s sight.”

A temporary Home
Once the orphanage was turned over to Chi Rho, major improvements were needed at the old building. The kids were moved temporarily to an outdoor camp for several weeks while renovations took place. It was a chilly fall and the rush was on to get the kids back into the house before the cold Romanian winter settled in.
The House is dedicated
A year after Chi Rho assumed ownership of Post-Cura #3, the House of New Life was formally dedicated on July 17, 1999. Members of Holy Trinity Baptist Church, Saratoga Federated Church, townspeople, and even the former orphanage director were in attendance. Above, the children sing a song to commemorate the momentous day.
